LINO CESAR OVIEDO, POLITICAL PURSUED

Lino Cesar Oviedo is a political pursued for the following reasons:

1 - He was judged for something that he didn't make, and it was relinquished by the Ordinary Justice.
2 - Immediately it was formed an unconstitutional Special Military Tribunal, that opened a process to a third person, in which he was involved as accomplice. The third person, Gen. Sindulfo Ruiz Ramírez was relinquished and the accomplice was condemned to ten years of military imprisonment.
3 - The Supreme Court of Justice, in an aberrant verdict, authenticated the action of a Special Military Tribunal that could not have existence. This is the famous condemnation of Oviedo to 10 years of imprisonment. And all these together has become over him when he had the audacity of winning the internal elections of their party to obtain the candidacy to the presidency of the Republic of Paraguay.

This process can be revised tip to tip and it will be find fantastic pearls, as those that we also show in the Argaña case.

It also seeks to involve him in the mysterious episode in which Dr. Luis María Argaña lost his life. Three main witness have been presented, and the three of them they were discovered falsifying their testimonies. In spite of the judge's efforts (in that moment Dr. Bogarín) it has not been possible to check anything, not even that Dr. Argaña has been alive in the moment of the supposed attack. The journalists with affections to the regime - that was built about the related farce - they have already condemned Oviedo.

Now it is tried to silence to all those that demand revision of the processes and they give space to the declarations and explanations of Oviedo. The pretext, the accusation it is "apology of the crime". The question is: Did somebody will be able to exercise the defense of Oviedo in Paraguay, if defending his right to a just trial it is "apology of the crime"?.

Certainly the reason of the accusation against the free press has other motivations that are not so hidden. It is to scare everybody, so that nobody exercises their right to differ. It is the typical Fascist movement, or better said of all the totalitarians. The muzzle is "the eloquence of the tyrants, they turn off the free man's voice, so that the silence covers their crimes" (Vergniaud).
