PERSECUTION, PERSECUTION AND PERSECUTION TO OPPONENTS

One of the most traumatic events in the history of Paraguay, it has been undoubtedly the plot for the Vice-president Dr. Luis María Argaña’s death, the last month of March’ 99. By this tremendous fact it was propitiated to the nation to the coup d’etat and the anarchy that were continued later, with the implantation of a ferocious political persecution of the opponents of the new government régime that assumed after the events of March and the President Cubas Grau’s renouncement.
By this way, the Republic of Paraguay left a full democracy with elected authorities by the popular vote, to become an illegitimate government's régime that didn't arise from the desire of the urns but from the cohabitation of political groups that otherwise would never have arrived to the power. All these based in a in a questionable decision of the Supreme Court of Justice that it decided to laid the "mandate" of Luis Gonzalez Macchi to continue up to the year 2003.
We won't detail all the facts that demonstrate the impracticality of those who "associate themselves" to govern illegitimately Paraguay. But if we should emphasize that this country never passed through such a catastrophic political and social situation as the current one.
It grieve us to have to say that there are nowadays confrontations inside the country where citizens are dying, people that don't resist more the situation that the Paraguayan population is living and they begin to resist the oppression.
Although, and as it could not be in another way, the illegitimacy of the acts of government's régime, it has untied a furious persecution, like a witches' hunt against every single political and critical opponents of this régime.
In this page we have written about these violations. Showing how, in procedures that quarrel with the common sense and justice, with arbitrary methods were detained, processed, accused and humiliated, citizens, included legislators, governors, intendants and officers of the Army, all opponents to the régime.
Who is responsible for the abuse of power, of the ill-treatment, of the damages that suffered and suffer today, a lot of innocent people that were wrongly processed?
The current rulers that have taken advantage of the cowardly homicide of Dr. Argaña to pursue and to destroy their political opponents. They are oppressing the population and taking it into bankruptcy. They must remember their oath: "... if this is not done, God and the Country demand it to me"...
For the grace we know that the mercy of God is great, but Take care Gentlemen! don't abuse of it...
Be know that, nearer than you might think it is the hour in that the homeland will demand it to you...
